I think every one has them things that set you into the stratosphere. It might be a minor thing such as chewing with ones mouth open to using a credit card for a one dollar item in the grocery store line, speaking of grocery stores how about the Nimrod that brings 40 items in to the 20 item speedy checkout and then wants them to check 5 of the items prices on the floor. 

My dad had some unusual ones that he would get downright inventively evil in trying to stop. For instance my brother would always put his shoes on the stairs to the upstairs bedrooms after falling a couple of times and not getting my brother to listen He said I'll help you I'll put a nail in that will keep your shoes up out of the way. That night my brother put his shoes in the same place as always . When Brother awoke he saw his shoes on the wall neat and nice. He went down and tried to take them down but Dad had had the last laughed He had nailed the sneaker to the wall with a spike. We had a neighbor who got a duck for their kids well the duck grew up made all sort of noise and defecated (pooped for those of you like us from Willseyville ) all around our yard. Dad would inevitably step in it and you would think that Pearl Harbor had just happened. One night around 9 o'clock , Dad come in as happy as a clam. That next morning the neighbor lady showed up at the door and screamed at mom that dad had tied up her duck . Well in realty he had got some grain for the duck put it in the bowl with a constipation relief liquid sprinkled on it , He then put a collar on the Duck and a leash and attached right out side the neighbors door. So you guessed the neighbors got "Ducked" spelling suspect. 

So why do we let such menial things upset us . It is the thing itself it is how we have lost control of our environment ,how others seem to never have to stop what they are doing and handle all these small annoying issues. It builds up an some insignificant thins sets us off and we remember and love it and every time we are stressed out we look for it for a reason to rage.

 Here we go again The Republicans won control of the House this past week. So what is the first press conference they do , they announce two investigations into Hunter Biden Joe Biden and the Biden Family. Now I don’t t disagree that these things need investigation but they didn’t need to announce until they actually had taken over. What did an announcement now do but just make them feel good about themselves. So then Trump announces he is running in 2024. Immediately Biden’s DOJ calls for a special counsel which if they had anything they would have done this long ago. So what was this just another PR ploy to keep the media attacking Trump. No legitimate reason for this and they didn’t even try to deny this.  So what are we as citizens to do ? Stop watching all the talking heads and demand answers to specific questions . Stop letting the mainstream media block out hours of programs for hearings that have no real impact other than politics. And let’s hold the party that is power to make

McDowell Memo: Apathy 11-14-22

 Today we still do not have a resolution to the control of the House of Representatives. Why we all ask America has never had a worse 2 years by any administration. Could it be no one cares or could it be the media makes us think that it is not fixable. We know longer think of America as a blessed by God endeavor but rather a failed social experiment. Everyday or kids are taught that the history we were taught is a lie , when in fact it is like all history the version the winner put forth. But they don’t teach that the version of the losers are not always accurate For instance , when we here about slavery which was terrible we never hear that almost every slave was originally captured into slavery by other African tribes or that Anerrics outlawed slave ships coming a decade before most of the rest of the world but did not outlaw keeping slaves much to our mistake.  So how do we get back to an America we can be proud of?  First we need to agree that history should be taught with both th

The McDowell Memo: Emergency Services dropping out of our ability to sustain

Emergency Services dropping out of our ability to sustain  As many of you know for the last 10 years I have railed against government imposing training standards and equipment standards on small and rural Fire Depts and Emergency / Ambulance Services. We now know see the impact of those increasingly restrictive regulations on local communities in Upstate New York. Many small areas have stopped providing EMS and the slack has had to be taken up by adjoining communities. In some cases the communities have gone to charging which if the medical insurance industry would lower the co pays to a reasonable amount might be somewhat sustainable. But, they haven't and I assume won't unless the state forces them to. On average the co pay is about $350 for basic and $500+ for Advanced care needs. If you are the poor senior citizen living on Social Security in a rural area this could mean the difference between paying the bill and eating for the month.  Fire companys are not excluded fr
